I’m hoping at my first ultrasound I can find out how developed I actually am… right now it could be anywhere from nine to eleven weeks. So we could be talking about a grape or a kumquat. I like how 2001: A Space Odyssey the 10 week image from BabyCenter.com looks (above). It’s amazing how all the little details are being developed: earlobes, eyelids, fingernails, chambers of the heart, muscles, and peach fuzz hair.
Symptoms… I actually don’t want to talk about the negative first trimester symptoms (nausea, cramps), because I’ve also started feeling REALLY excited this past week or so. The things I’ve always been annoyed about my body (irratable stomach, dizzy low blood sugar attacks, swollen tummy) are now an everyday occurance, but somehow it’s all worth it.
Exercise and eating right was something I’d always try and do, sometimes successfully. But now I get an extra rush from doing it, knowing that I’m doing it not just for me, but for this other creature, who I haven’t even met yet :) I feel pretty lucky that I get to go through this, when boys just have to sit back and wait for the next few months to unfold.
