The wait is over. As soon as the technician turned on the ultrasound machine, I could tell that it looked like there was something dangling between our baby’s legs, but it took us about half an hour longer of waiting for measurments and various other images for her to confirm what I had long suspected… we are having a boy.
The ultrasound was a lot of fun to watch. Little Gilroy (real name to be revealed on or around 01/07/2010) demonstrated his ability to suck his thumbs and well as play with his member as we watched on the screen. As usual, he’s always very active when my bladder is full, and as soon as I relieve myself, he goes to sleep. So thoughtful of him.

In the end though, I didn’t feel that surprised. Even though I think all the myths are bullshit, I couldn’t help but get the “boy” intuition out of my mind. So which of the old wives tales were true? If I am having a boy, then:
So that comes to 7 true, 2 TBD, 1 maybe and 1 untrue. Although it seems as if the old wives tales are pretty BS, at least in my case they skewed heavily in favor of a boy. It also doesn’t help that the Strickland Y chromosome is so damn strong. There aren’t many girls as far back as 4 generations, it’s penises all around.
